Helping People Find Jobs

print

We specialize in helping people with developmental disabilities fulfill their dreams of working. Through our well-established services and training, our professional staff helps them successfully reach their goals not only in employment but in life as well.

Job Seeking Skills Training

If needed, we help people with disabilities improve these skills to get a job:

• exploring careers • interviewing techniques

• preparing resumes • completing job applications

• contacting possible employers • managing financial matters

• interpersonal communication • using time management skills

Job Coaching and On-The-Job Training

A job coach’s first concern is making sure a person with disabilities succeeds at work. They actually go to work with a person and help them learn any new tasks and responsibilities they need. Job coaching allows our staff to help not only with job tasks but also workplace behavior skills, developing friendships and tracking progress.

Follow-Along Service

Once a person has mastered a job, we provide ongoing follow-along services to ensure long term success. These follow-up visits help both the person and employer address any concerns that may arise as well as provide peace of mind that the job is done right.
