Fidget Quilt Circle donates fidget quilts to MCBDD Children’s Services.

 

 

The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities appreciates the continuing support of our community and has a variety of opportunities and options for accepting donations from the public. Your generous donation will help make an impact on the lives of people of all ages with developmental disabilities in Medina County.

 

 

 

 

Ways to Donate

The list below describes some of ways in which a donation made be made to the Medina County Board of DD. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Director of Business at 330-725-7751 ext. 281 or by email.

Monetary

Anyone wishing to donate funds to the Medina County Board of DD, or any of its programs, may make a check or money order payable to the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities (or MCBDD) and mail to:

Please tell us the area you would like your monetary donation to benefit – see below for specific areas. After we receive, you will get a letter including our tax ID information for your tax purposes. Please check with your tax consultant for any questions related to tax deductions.

We cannot accept credit card or electronic donations.

Materials

Individuals, businesses, organizations, or other entities wishing to donate material goods (e.g. equipment, supplies, furniture, toys, materials, etc.) to the Medina County Board of DD, or any of its programs, should contact the Facilities Activities Manager at 330-725-7751 ext. 270 or by email for more information.

Supplies

Individuals, businesses, organizations, or other entities wishing to donate supplies to the Medina County Board of DD for a specific event (at which those supplies will be used or consumed) should contact the Community Relations Coordinator at 330-725-7751 ext. 273 or by email  for more information.

MCBDD Donor Scholarship

The Medina County Board of DD offers an annual scholarship to graduating seniors in the community. Administered by the Donated Funds Committee, it is meant to encourage and support young persons who are pursuing a career which serves individuals with disabilities.

MCBDD Special Events 

The Medina County Board of DD hosts programs and events that help and encourage people with disabilities to become valued citizens in the community. Donations in this area are used to fund special agency community events such as our Community Ice Cream Social and Safety Town Plus.

Event Information

Children’s Services
(includes Early Intervention, Windfall Preschool and Windfall School)

The Medina County Board of DD’s Children’s Services support educational opportunities and programs that help young children reach their potential. Donations in this area may be used to renovate the playground, create sensory areas, and provide materials for specific educational learning opportunities and training.

Community Supports
(includes Advocacy and DSP Recognition Efforts)

Donations in these areas are used to support advocacy programs, monthly activities, costs for training and conferences for individuals with disabilities. Donations may also be used for annual recognition of direct support professionals to recognize their commitment and dedication to helping people with disabilities.

DSP Recognition Information

Assistive Technology (AT) 

The Medina County Board of DD’s Assistive Technology department helps individuals and their families find and use technology to support their independence at home, work, or in the community. Donations in this area are used to meet the AT needs of individuals with disabilities and their families, to update technology in the MCBDD Smart Home, and purchase items for the assistive technology lending library.

Memorial Grove 

Memorial Grove is part of the walking path behind the Achievement Center building. It is a place to remember those who have touched our lives in a special way. Along with memorial bricks, there are also benches and a gazebo which may be used as places for quiet reflection. Individuals with disabilities, volunteers, family members, staff members, board members, etc. who are associated with the Medina County Board of DD may be remembered by a donation to Memorial Grove.
