ROTH ID TAG™
Emergency Contact Identification System for Individuals with Developmental Differences
The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities has partnered with ROTH ID TAG™ to offer emergency identification systems free to families in Medina County. This ID system is an informational tag that can be attached directly to a car seat, wheelchair, or any other durable equipment, and contains important information about the child or adult during an emergency.
Each ROTH ID TAG™ contains key personal information such as the individual’s name, date of birth, emergency contact details, and any important medical or communication notes—for example, allergies, speech or hearing challenges, and more. This helps give first responders immediate access to critical information during an emergency.

Blue Envelope
The Blue Envelope program uses communication tools to assist individuals with developmental differences during interactions with law enforcement and emergency personnel. On the outside of the envelope, there is space for any needed personal information, and a copy of a driver’s license, registration, and insurance card can be kept inside the envelope. This allows for quick and easy communication in moments that otherwise could cause high stress and anxiety. To receive a Blue Envelope, please contact your Service and Support Administrator (SSA).
Communication Boards
Communication boards help people communicate with others by using symbols, pictures, or photos. They can be used by people to express their needs, preferences, and decisions. DODD has created a collection of communication boards for people to download to allow people with various communication needs to engage in their communities and activities.
